Student Membership Awards

The Qld Branch offers student membership awards to undergraduate and postgraduate students at each of the Universities within the State. These awards are given to the student who excels both academically and clinically within their course of study in a given year.

Denny Cowell Awards

In addition, the Qld Branch offers two annual Conference Awards known as the Denny Cowell Awards, perpetually honouring Mr Denny Cowell, one of the original members of the Qld Branch, who died in September 2003. Denny is well known as an inspiring Mental Health Nurse Educator in Queensland. One award covers the cost of early bird registration to the annual conference of the ACMHN and the second award is for the amount of $500 to cover costs to attend the annual Tropical Symposium.

Please prepare your Denny Cowell application to include the following information:

1. Full name, employer, postal address, email address and telephone contact.

2. College membership number.

3. Confirmation that you can attend the Symposium (including dates) in June or the Annual College Conference (including dates). Therefore, a Leave Granted form or letter from your employer (if necessary) will need to be supplied.

4. Previous involvement in College activities.

5. Other funding arrangements sought/provided.

6. Finally, please write a short submission (not more than 250 words) stating how your attendance at the conference/symposium will benefit you and others.
