Non-Directive Pregnancy CounsellingCredentialed Mental Health Nurse (Non-member) Non-directive pregnancy support counselling Medicare items became available on 1 November 2006 to assist women who are concerned about a pregnancy. The Medicare funded services are available from eligible GPs (including a general practitioner, but not including a specialist or consultant physician), and from credentialed mental health nurses, psychologists, and social workers, when the woman is referred by a GP. MBS item 81010 is the specific service provided by Credentialed Mental Health Nurses. When you have finished the program and successfully completed the assessment, you will be provided with a Certificate of Completion and your name will be forwarded to Medicare Australia identifying you as being eligible to register for the MBS item number 81010.
