Expression of Interest

Have you ever considered becoming a peer reviewer? Now that you are Credentialed, you could join the cohort of Credentialed Mental Health Peer Reviewers after undertaking the Peer Reviewer Training.

To be a Peer Reviewer, you need to be:

  • A financial member of the College;
  • A Credentialed Mental Health Nurse;
  • Committed to the promotion of Credentialing and quality improvement within mental health nursing;
  • Willing to complete the Peer Reviewer Training;
  • Able to maintain confidentiality, privacy, objectivity, fairness and rigour when conducting reviews on applications;
  • Able to identify any potential conflict of interest that may exist or arise by reviewing a specific application and act appropriately in such instances;
  • Knowledgeable and skilled to assess Credentialing applications against the established criteria for mental health nursing, under the governance of the ACMHN Credentialing Committee and within the parameters of the Credentialing for Nurses policies.

An online training program provides future Peer Reviewers with the necessary training to prepare for reviewing online applications. Support will be provided to peer reviewers during training by mentors, who are experienced peer reviewers, as well as after the training if needed.

If you are interested in becoming a reviewer, please send us an Expression of Interest before 28 July 2017. We will then provide you with information on when the next training is to be conducted. Training timeframes are limited to mentors’ availability.

It would be great to have you as a reviewer and although the role is honorary, you can claim points for each review you undertake to go towards your own professional development. The College would also reimburse any costs incurred, for example phone calls, after providing the required documents for expenditure reimbursement.
