Applying for a Mental Health Nurse CredentialTo become a Credentialed Mental Health Nurse, you must apply to the ACMHN. Applications are processed by the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses and peer reviewed by other Credentialed Mental Health Nurses.
Step 1: Read the Application Guidelines To commence your application, you should read the Application Guidelines before you start completing the Application Form:
Step 2: Complete your Application A new streamlined Application Form, EBR and Guidelines are now available for your use. From 31 August 2010 all applications received must utilise the new forms. We recommend you use the Word version of the Application Form which has been designed for you to save to your computer and complete electronically. When you have completed the Application, please print and sign it. Please do not use a handwritten format for this form. • •
Step 3: Complete your Evidence Based Record As part of your application, you will also need complete an Evidence Based Record (EBR) for the past three years. An EBR contains details of professional activities you undertake as part of your continuing professional education and continuing practice development as a mental health nurse. •
Step 4: Obtain two References You application needs to be supported by two professional referees. • •
