Non-Directive Pregnancy Counselling
To be eligible to provide services using MBS Item 81010, a mental health nurse must be a ‘Credentialled Mental Health Nurse’ as certified by the Australian and New Zealand College of Mental Health Nurses (acmhn), and have completed appropriate non-directive pregnancy counselling training.

The non-directive pregnancy counselling training program 81010 Non-Directive Pregnancy Counselling Training Program for Mental Health Nurses, is available online now.

The development of the training program was funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing and is designed to prepare suitably qualified mental health nurses to counsel women with pregnancy-related concerns using a non-directive approach.

Once you you have finished the program and successfully complete the assessments and surveys, you will be provided with a Certificate of Completion by the College and your name will be forwarded to Medicare Australia.
