We are a teaching practice with GP Synergy and also teach med students form UNSW and University of Sydney.We are in the centre of Potts Point close to St Vincents Hospital [1km]. We have a close liaison with the O’Brien Centre psych unit and the psycho-geriatric unit of St Vincents Hospital. We have a number of patients with comorbid mental illness and addiction issues. Stephanie my current mental health nurse has to relocate to the UK but described this position as ‘the best job she has ever had’ and is very sad to be leaving. We are a close cohesive fun team. Dr Raymond Seidler the practice principal has presented at the National Mental Health nurse association meeting in 2010 with Alan Hainsworth his mental health nurse at the time. They were very well received.
Position Objective - The Mental Health Nurse position is to provide care and support for people with severe mental health disorders and complex needs, including comorbidity, utilising a biopsychosocial model of care.
Key Duties and Responsibilities - Nursing Assessment Care Planning and collaboration in preparation of MHCP Coordination of treatment according to clinical guidelines. ACT, DBT,CBT.
