Credential for Practice ProgramThe Credentialing Committee was established in September 2004 at the International Conference in Canberra. Members of the previous Credentialing Steering Committee, established in 1999, continued to serve as the inaugural Committee for a further 2 years. Following consultations in 2006, the Committee was re-constituted in line with the College strategic direction. The Committee is accountable to College Council. MembershipThe Committee is made up of 7 members, including the Chair. Up to 5 members of the Committee are drawn from the membership of the College. Two external independent members are appointed one of whom is required to be a consumer. The College President is an ex-officio member of the Committee, as is the Executive Officer. Members must be credentialed or working towards being credentialed. They are selected on skills, experience and commitment required for an effective team. The Committee is not directly involved in promotion and marketing, application processing and reviewing, training, day to day operations, management and general administration of the credentialing program. The Committee works closely with the Executive Officer on the management of the Credential for Practice Program and advises the College Council on issues related to credentialing.
