Role of the ACMHN Accreditation Committee

The primary function of the Accreditation Committee is to determine and make recommendations about and to education providers, so that members are able to make informed choices for their continuing professional education in relation to:

  • Higher education programs that offer mental health nursing specialty qualifications
  • Educational events and products awarding ACMHN Continuing Professional Education (CPE) points

In addition, the Committee are responsible for:

  • Ensuring endorsed CPE programs meet the standards of the ACMHN and the profession, and protect the integrity and credibility of the CPP and the ACMHN
  • Providing strategic direction, for ongoing development and sustainability of the CPE
  • Determining and establishing policies and procedures
  • Reviewing strategies for the promotion of the CPE
  • Providing advice to the ACMHN Board and Committees regarding education providers and associated issues
  • Ensuring information about CPE is provided to the Credentialing committee and then to membership
